[Kimbap Restaurant in Sinchon] Kitchen Bomnal and Youngmi Kimbap

Kimbap is one of the Korean food that is easy and convenient to eat, and loved by many people. In this post, the AREX team will introduce 2 restaurants that sell delicious kimbap in Sinchon. 

#1 Kitchen Bomnal 

Bomnal means Spring Day. Kitchen Bomnal is one of the famous kimbap restaurant on social media. You can feel the warmth of Spring from the name of the restaurant. It has a nice exterior which makes it look like a cafe, flower shop or hair salon. In fact, many people mistaken it for hair salon.

There is a menu board outside the restaurant, so you can check out the price before entering this place.

The interior of Kitchen Bombal is very different from the usual kimbap restaurants. At this restaurant, the harmony of the interior in white concept and pink cherry blossoms makes it like a cafe. Due to COVID-19, only take-out is available at the moment (dine-in is not allowed).

In addition, you can find many cute interior elements. Illustration cards and photos in four seasons are beautifully decorated, and it creates a cozy atmosphere.

Orders can be made at the kiosk in front of the counter and they will make the kimbap as soon as you order.

We have ordered tuna kimbap, one of the popular menu at Kitchem Bomnal. They pack the kimbap in a transparent container which makes your mouth water before you eat it.

The kimbap was filled with 80% tuna, and the combination of soft eggs and tuna is impressive. Surprisingly, the kimbap filled with savory and moist tuna was not greasy. Kitchen Bomnal specializes in take-out and delivery, so you may need to wait some time if you come during main meal hours. You can also make reservation on Naver (mobile) before visiting the restaurant.

#2 Youngmi Kimbap (Yonsei branch)

The next kimbap restaurant that we will introduce is the Youngmi Kimbap (Yonsei branch). It is a famous restaurant, located near the front gate of Ewha Women University, that serves vegan kimbap. You may find their 2nd branch near the Sinchon Eagle Pharmacy.

You can place order at the kiosk which is on the right side after entering the restaurant. There is name and photo on the screen, so it is easy to order the kimbap. We ordered the kimchi tuna kimbap, a popular menu here. The restaurant is quite small so usually there is a waiting line.

There is an open kitchen here so you can see them as they pack the kimbap. They prepare the kimbap right after you order, so normally you just wait about 5 -10 mins depending on the order amount. It will take longer if you order a lot.

On the wrapper of kimchi tuna kimbap, there is a sticker with the word "chichi" which seems to be short form for kimchi tuna gimbap. The kimbap is neatly wrapped in paper foil, and the thick kimbap looks good.

It is thicker and contains more ingredients than the usual kimbap at other place. It contains many ingredients such as ham, spinach, crab meat, pickled radish, carrots, eggs, tuna kimchi and others. The combination of tuna and kimchi offers a savory and refreshing taste. It is an affordable meal that is worth the price since it comes with many ingredients.
