Do you know that you can transfer to Seoul Subway Line 1 & 4 at Seoul Station after taking the Korea Airport Railroad (AREX) from Incheon Airport? Currently, there are many foreign tourists who use the Airport Railroad AREX from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station, then transfer to Seoul Subway Line 1 & 4 to other places like Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, City Hall etc. This transfer service has provided a lot of convenience to foreign tourists in their Korea trip.

However, you may have noticed that there are also fast train / express / rapid train on the regular Seoul subway on Line 1 & 9 where it will skip some stations and only stop at major station.

Many people have wondered if AREX Express Train that runs from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station is the same as this fast train on regular subway in Seoul.

Korea Airport Railroad AREX Express train is totally different from fast train of regular subway. Fast train of Seoul subway line 1 & line 9 are the same train type and charges the same fare as other regular Seoul subway. But Korea Airport Railroad AREX Express train runs nonstop between Seoul Station and Incheon Airport Station without intermediate stop. AREX Express train interior and fare is also entirely different from AREX All-Stop train or the fast train on regular subway.

For AREX Express train, the chairs of sit-down style like KTX are installed. The interior is so quiet, due to its automatic doors by touch-button. Also, there will be crew that will provide some guides to passengers. AREX Express train also has a drink stand and toilet is also available inside the train.

AREX Express train runs only 43 minutes between Seoul Station and Incheon Airport Station.

AREX Express train one-way fare is KRW 8,000. But this train also operates many different discount systems such as KRW 6,000 over 4 persons and KRW 6,900  in linkage with Korail train.

AREX Express train has only 1 ticket gate at Seoul Station and Incheon Airport Station respectively. The ticket gate at Seoul Station is next to City Airport Terminal on B2 floor (gate for all-stop train on B3 floor) while the ticket gate in Incheon Airport Station is on the right side of Incheon Airport Station(all-stop train ticket gate’s on the left side). In the case of usingA REX Express train at Seoul station, passengers can get some additional services such as check-in, luggage consignment(Korean air, Asiana airlines and Jeju air’s passenger), departure review of immigration office quickly. However, the users of AREX Express train can’t make transfer to regular subway and bus.

On the other hand, AREX all-stop train has the same interior like trains of Seoul subway and it stops all 12 stations. It takes 58 minutes from Seoul Station to Incheon Airport Station and vice versa.

[Incheon Ice Rink] Seonhak International Ice Rink

There is less than 100 days to Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. If you want to feel the atmosphere of winter olympic in advance, you can come to Seonhak International Ice Rink, which is the only ice rink location in Incheon. Seonhak International Ice Rink started its operation since March 2015 for the enhancement of children's health, working adult's use for leisure activities, and for the development of ice-skating players in Incheon region.
