Pretty Cafes in Mangwon-dong area - Cafe Zapangi and Hula Hula

Recently, there are many pretty cafes in Mangwon-dong area that became popular on Facebook and Instagram. In this post, Airport Railroad AREX will be introducing two instagram-worthy cafes in Mangwon-dong - Cafe Zapangi and Cafe Hula Hula.

1) Cafe Zapangi

"Zapangi" means vending machine in Korean language. This cafe has a unique door that is made of "vending machine". You may have seen this cute pink vending machine on internet. If you are wondering what this is... It is actually a cafe in Mangwon-dong!

Inside Cafe Zapangi, you can find a beautiful nice NEON light showing "TIN AND BOTTLE". The reason why it is written "TIN AND BOTTLE" is because the cakes and drinks in this cafe will come in tin and bottle.

Cafe Zapangi has a pretty interior too. However, there are not many tables and seats in the cafe. If you want to sit in the cafe to enjoy the drink, we recommend you to visit this cafe early in the morning.

Recently, there was an earthquake that happened in the Pohang city, Korea. Airport Railroad AREX would like to share with you some tips on what to do if earthquake happens when you are traveling in Korea.

Read carefully the things to do and not to do if earthquake happens while you are in the train, station or elevator.

REMEMBER!
- Stay calm and don't panic. Follow the instruction of staff or firefighter.

If earthquake happens while you are taking the train, remember not to jump out of the train because it may cause accident.

Another point to take note of is to not use the elevator when earthquake happens. Please take the stairs only!

You can also find an optical shop named "Eye Balance" where you can buy contact lenses or glasses.

4) Noodle King

Noodle King is a famous asian food restaurant. You can buy onigiri, sushi, gimbap and many more. Also, there sell different types of noodles inside the restaurant.

5) Cafe DingDong

Before you take the escalator down to get to Airport Railroad line, you will see Cafe Ding Dong on the left. Coffee, sandwiches, nagasaki castella are available at this cafe.

◆ 2nd Floor

KTX, Gyeongbu Line, Seoul Subway Line 1 & 4 is connected to AREX at 2nd Floor.

Connect to Seoul Subway line 1, line 4 and KTX 

There is an elevator that goes to B2 floor and B3 floor.

Tips on Using Korea Airport Railroad AREX

Most of the time, the preferred method of traveling around when you visit another country is the subway or metro. Korea is no exception.

Korea Airport Railroad - AREX Express Train

When foreign tourists arrive in Korea through Incheon International Airport or Gimpo International Airport, most people move to downtown Seoul using the Korea Airport Railroad AREX train from Incheon International Airport Station or Gimpo International Airport Station.

But if you are taking the Korea Airport Railroad from Seoul Station or other stations late at night, it is good to well distinguish between the train timetable heading to Incheon International Airport Station and Geomam Station.

Comfortable seats - AREX Express Train

The last train heading to Incheon International Airport departing from Seoul station is at 11:40 p.m. There are trains departing at 11:48pm and 12:00 midnight but they will operate until Geomam Station only. Because some of the foreign tourists are not aware of this, there are times when travellers had to take an expensive taxi ride to Incheon International Airport from Geomam Station.

Visit AREX website > Go to "Airport Railroad Information" at main menu > Go to "Station Information" > check the timetable by selecting the AREX station name.

Korea Airport Railroad AREX have two types of trains:

• AREX All stop train which stops at all 12 stations;
• AREX Express train which travels non stop between Seoul Station and Incheon International Airport.

AREX All stop train which departs from Seoul Station alternates between the train heading to the Incheon International Airport and train heading to Geomam Station. So, if you ride on a train heading to Geomam Station, you can get off at Geomam Station and ride on the next train heading to the Incheon International Airport. But the train heading to Geomam Station which depart from Seoul Station at 11:48pm and 12:00 midnight is not followed by a train heading to the Incheon International Airport. Please take note of this.

The last AREX All stop train heading to Incheon International Airport from Seoul Station ends at 11:40 p.m. Also, you have to keep in mind when going to downtown Seoul from Incheon International Airport by taking AREX All stop train late at night. The last train from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station is at 11:39 p.m. but there is one more train departing at 11:57 p.m. which operates until  Digital Media City Station only. 

So, if you take the last AREX all stop train to Digital Media City Station, you can take a taxi to Hongdae Station, Seoul Station, Myeongdong, etc after arriving in Digital Media City Station. Please remember that the last train from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station is at 11:39 p.m!
