Since 18th January 2018, passengers who are taking Korean Air, Delta Airlines, Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will depart from/arrive at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. Many people are still unfamiliar with Incheon Airport Terminal 2 as it is still quite new. If you are arriving in or departing from Incheon Airport Terminal 2, you are advised to check out some of these useful information before your flight.

Incheon Airport Terminal 2 has many cool facilities. First of all, travelers departing from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 can enjoy faster check-in procedure with the increased number of self-check in kiosks and self-bag drop services provided in Terminal 2. 1. Self Check in Kiosk (셀프체크인)

Just as you can find in Incheon Airport Terminal 1, self check in kiosks are also available in Incheon Airport Terminal 2. There are more self check in kiosks installed in Incheon Airport Terminal 2, which makes check in procedure quicker and less time consuming for the passengers. There are also many staff stationed near the self check in kiosks, who will assist the foreigners to do the self check in.

2. Self Bag Drop (셀프백드롭)

There are more self bag drop counters in Incheon Airport Terminal 2 which will make your check in procedure more faster and easier.


3. Hanjin Express (한진택배) - Baggage Storing and Packing

In case your check in baggage as exceed the baggage allowance, you can use Hanjin Express to delivery your bag to your country/destination. Besides that, Korean Air passengers can use the coat storage service at Hanjin Express counter in Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

4. Laundry (세탁소)

If you are not Korean Air passenger, you can use the Coat Room or Laundry Room at B1F, Transportation Center. The storage fee for 7 days 6 nights is approximately 10,000won. Other than Coat storage service, you can also use the bag and shoe repair service provided at this counter.

For travelers who are traveling with small children or baby, you can use the nursing room in Incheon Airport Terminal 2. There is another small room in the nursing room. Mothers who need to breastfeed their baby may use the small room comfortably.


6. Pharmacy (약국)

If you need Over-the-Counter Medicine, Travel Medications, prescription compounding, health functional food, etc, you can visit the Pharmacy store in Incheon Airport Terminal 2. However, the pharmacy store is not 24 hours, so please check the operating hours when you plan your trip.

[Hongdae/Sangsu] Cafe Room 19 - A cozy cafe near Sangsu Station

"Visiting cafes" is one of the must-do things in Korea for many foreign tourists. Yes! Indeed, there are many cafes in Korea (especially Seoul) that offer nice coffee and a cozy environment for you to chill. Cafe Room 19 (19호실), located near Sangsu Station and also walking distance from Hongdae, is a cozy cafe that allows you to enjoy your coffee in a nice and relaxing space. Besides that, you will find many nice spots in this cafe to take beautiful photos to be uploaded on your Instagram or Facebook.

Everyone has their own secret place, that is only known by themselves. The name of the cafe - "Room 19" is inspired by the book "To Room 19(19호실로 가다)" and TVN's drama "Because this is my first life(이번 생은 처음이라)", where "Room 19" is known to be one's secret place. Thus, Cafe Room 19 will be "the secret cafe only you know".

Room 19 is managed by two sisters. First and second floors are cafe, but the elder sister's interior office is also located on the second floor. On the first floor floor, there is a long table at the center and  some tables for two at the side. The interior and decoration on the first floor of Cafe 19 is done by the elder sister, and each space has a different interior concept.

This space is decorated with many vintage items on a red background, making it into a fantasy space.

On the second floor, you will find Room 19 lounge that is decorated with a fabric sofa. Since there is only 1 table set up together with the sofa, it is limited to 2 hours for each customer.

The signature drink in Room 19 is their Dutch Cube Latte! As you can see from the photo, it is served with a combination of dutch coffee ice cube, brown sugar, and milk. (Tips: Before you pour the milk into the glass, you can try eating one dutch coffee ice cube! It tastes really good!)

Another recommended drink in Room 19 is Mint Cafe Latte. The whipped cream on top of the mint cafe latte is not the normal whipped cream bought in the market, but it is made specially by Room 19.

When you visit Room 19, you should also try their Matcha Financier, which is a good choice to go with dutch coffee.

If you like sweet dessert, how about checking out Room 19's brownies? You can taste the strong chocolate flavor from the moist texture of the brownies. You can also choose to add on vanilla ice-cream.

Total number of AREX passengers has reached 500 million

Airport Railroad (AREX) has grown 17 times more in the duration of 11 years. The total number of AREX passengers has reached 500 million!

In June 2018, AREX that connects Seoul Station and Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and 2 has reached a total number of 500 million passengers. The total number of passengers recorded on 14th April 2018 was 400 million, and in 2 months, it has increased tremendously, making it 500,146,511 passengers in total.

Total number of AREX passengers in the past 11 years

In the early stage, there was a lower demand of AREX usage due to the reason that AREX was mainly used by passengers who are going to the airport. However, AREX has actively put in effort to provide more services for customers, create tourism content related to festivals and attractions around AREX stations in order to encourage the use of AREX. As a result, there are approximately 280,000 AREX passengers daily.

Currently, AREX has 13 stations including Seoul Station, Hongik University Station, Gimpo Airport Station, Incheon Airport Station, etc. Among all the AREX stations, Gimpo Airport Station has the highest number of daily passengers (approximately 85,000 passengers), followed by Hongik University Station (62,000 per day) and Seoul Station (61,000 per day).

The route with highest number of passengers is Gimpo Airport Station-Gyeyang Station (19,000 passengers in a day), followed by Gimpo Airport Station-Geomam Station (13,000 passengers in a day), Gimpo Airport Station-Seoul Station (10,000 passengers in a day).

AREX, as the public transportation that connects downtown Seoul to Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, has seen an increase in the number of foreign tourists every year, with a total of 3,056,115 foreigner passengers in 2017. The total number of foreign tourists that use AREX has reached 17,490,000 in the duration of 11 years.

In addition, there are approximately 704 people (60.5% foreigners) in a day that use the city airport terminal in Seoul Station to check in for international flights departing from Incheon Airport.

"We will set up mid to long-term management strategies and all our staff are doing our best", said AREX CEO Mr. Kim Han-young. He also said that "we will provide a safe and convenient train operation to our beloved AREX passengers."
