The self-service tax refund machine is installed at Seoul Station of Airport Railroad for train rides between Seoul Station and Incheon Int'l Airport Station. This machine is located in front of Information Center of City Airport Terminal in Seoul Station of Airport Railroad on the 2nd basement floor.
So, foreigners can get their tax refund fast and conveniently before getting on the train to Incheon Int'l Airport or Gimpo Int'l Airport in Seoul Station.
It is touchscreen-operated and you can choose among 4 languages (Korean, Chinese, English and Japanese) for easy-to-follow instructions on the screen. Follow the instruction to get your passport scanned. And then you scan the QR code of the tax refund receipt of the purchase at a global-tax free affiliated store and get a tax refund in Korean won.
Tax refund is available for only 4 types of items including cosmetics, clothes, shoes, jewelry, and the shopping amount between 30,000 KRW and 2 million KRW.
Meanwhile, as there are shopping malls like Lotte Mart and Lotte Outlet in Seoul Station, foreign tourists can do the shopping conveniently and exchange foreign currency into local currency at the currency exchange office next to the self-service tax refund machine.
There are Express Trains that run non-stop from Seoul Station to Incheon Int'l Airport Station in 43 minutes, and All-stop Trains that stop at all 11 stations from Seoul Station to Incheon Int'l Airport Station in 56 minutes. Express Trains bound for Incheon Int'l Airport Station operate at 30-minute intervals and All-stop Trains operate at 12-minute intervals.

Airport Railroad establishes the payment system for overseas credit cards like UNION PAY card
Airport Railroad established the payment system to be able to accept overseas credit cards like UNION PAY in purchasing tickets for Express Train.
It is applied only to purchase tickets for Express Train that runs non-stop between Seoul Station and Incheon Int'l Airport Station. Passengers can use with credit card at Information Center of Seoul Station and Incheon Int'l Airport Station, and also through the mobile fare adjustment machine that cabin crews of Express Train use.
It is established to solve those problems in case tickets and transportation cards of passengers are processed abnormally. As passengers can pay with cash or credit card in case their transportation card is short of its balance, this system can eliminate customer's inconvenience.
Available cards for this payment system are MASTER, VISA, AMEX, JCB, DINERS CARD, as well as the newly included UNION PAY.
