The Avengers II to film in Seoul from March 30 to April 12

Some scenes from the sequel to the Hollywood blockbuster "The Avengers" will be filmed in Seoul and its outskirts. Filming will take place from March 30 to April 12, 2014 and the locations include Mapo Bridge, Digital Media City (DMC) and Gangnam Boulevard in Seoul, and Uiwang-si in Gyeonggi-do.

Mapo Bridge in Mapo-gu, Seoul will be the first filming location. The 1,400-meter-long and 25-meter-wide (6-lane road) Mapo Bridge was the fourth bridge to be built over the Hangang River. The Night View from Mapo Bridge is also one of Seoul’s popular attractions.

Second on the list is Cheongdam Bridge. Connecting Seoul’s Gwangjin-gu and Gangnam-gu, this 1,211-meter-long bridge’s multi-layered structure supports vehicle traffic as well a section of Seoul Subway Line 7. Tourist attractions near Cheongdam Bridge include Supia Ttukseom and Ttukseom Hangang Park.

Some scenes will also be shot in Gangnam, specifically the road from Gangnam Station (Seoul Subway Line 2) to Kyobo Tower. Popular tourist attractions in Gangnam include Apgujeong Rodeo Street, Sinsadong Garosu-gil Road, Lotte Department Store - Gangnam Branch and Shinsegae Department Store - Gangnam Branch.
