Hit Drama “My Love from the Star” sets open to the public DDP in Seoul

At Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), which has become one of Korea’s hottest new tourist sites, visitors will be able to indirectly experience the TV drama You Who Came From The Stars (Stars) through You Who Came From The Stars: Special Exhibition with Do Min-joon and Cheon Song-yi, which will be held until August 15 at the DDP’s Art Hall 1.

At this special exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to see the actual house sets of Cheon Song-yi (Jun Ji-hyun) and Do Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun). Their fateful love is displayed through a series of eight themed mini-exhibits, including “Start,” “Fate,” “Encounter,” “Nervous,” “Longing,” “Destiny,” and “Love.” The “Fate” exhibit, Do Min-joon’s story from 400 years ago, makes viewers feel as if they have traveled back in time to the Joseon Dynasty. The exhibit includes the palanquin used by Cheon Song-yi in her previous life, Do Min-joon’s Joseon-style attire, and a traditional Korean women’s hairpin.
“Encounter” features the apartment entrance where Do Min-joon and Cheon Song-yi first met. It is a good place to recall the same scene from the drama while listening to an audio recording of it. Also, displays showing music videos are positioned throughout the area so that visitors can listen to the drama’s soundtrack while enjoying the exhibit.

“Nervous” is a hands-on space, with chromakey installations for the balcony scene and a simulation of the filming of the drama with the actors and staff of Stars as well as 3D footage from the show. Visitors even get to experience Do Min-joon’s “time stopping” ability.

The exhibition features Do Min-joon’s unseok (real pearl), the car that appeared in the scene in which Do Min-joon rescued Cheon Song-yi, and the red carpet where the couple realized their love for one another.

Additional spaces include a Stars photo exhibit and the scripts for episodes 1 to 21 of the drama. At the end of the exhibition, there is a shop selling souvenirs related to the show, as well as coffee and beverages. One particularly eye-catching feature is a helium-filled replica floating near the ceiling of the UFO that first brought Do Min-joon to Earth.
All exhibits may be viewed in English and Chinese as well.

You Who Came From The Stars: Special Exhibition with Do Min-joon and Cheon Song-yi will be held at the DDP’s Art Hall 1 every day from June 10 until August 15, and the exhibition hours are from 10am until 10pm. The entrance fee is KRW 15,000 for adults.

Visitors who go to the DDP via AREX for this special exhibition may transfer to Subway Line 4 at Seoul Station, only four stops away from Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station. Or, visitors taking the AREX Line can also transfer to Subway Line 2 at Hongik University Station, continuing on to Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station from there. Exit 1 of Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station leads directly to the DDP.
