Hyun Bin, Korean Wave Star becomes a promotional ambassador for the Incheon Asian Games

Hyun Bin, who starred with Tang Wei in Late Autumn, was named an official promotional ambassador for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games from Sep 19 to Oct 4, 2014.

The Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee said that the committee appointed Korean wave star Hyun Bin to widely promote the event domestically and abroad.   

The Korean actor has a special relationship with Incheon because he has served in Baeknyeong Island located off Incheon as a marine where the Asian Games will be held. "I started my military duty on Baeknyeong Island, Incheon and hoped to do something for this event due to this special relationship and it is a great honor to be a promotional ambassador," said Hyun Bin. "I will make utmost effort to promote the 2014 Incheon Asian Games inside and outside of Korea."

On July 3rd, his appointment drew many journalists’ attention because the news came one day after Tang Wei who filmed with Hyun Bin in Late Autumn had announced that she would marry with Kim, Tae-young, a director of the film.  

The Games will be held in Sep. 19th – Oct. 4th. Many stadiums including a main stadium for opening, closing ceremonies and track and field games are located around Geumam and Gyeyang stations on an airport railroad. In addition, shuttle buses will run at these stations during the games.  

In the main stadium, a tourism police fluent in Chinese, English and Japanese will stay to provide interpretation service for foreign tourists and strengthen security in the area.
