Recommended Spot Nearby Gongdeok Station

Gongdeok Station is the popular area for people to meetup after work in the evening, and there is a famous alley nearby this station, which is the "Mapo Galmaegi Alley", "Mapo Jeon Alley", and "Gongdeok Jukbal Alley". As you walk along these alleys full of delicious food, you will end up at one of these stores to enjoy the food.

Koreans eat jeon (pancakes) when it rains. And we visited the must-visit "Mapo Jeon Alley" when it rains.

The fastest way to get to Mapo Jeon Alley is to get off at Exit 4 and 5 of Subway Line 5. If is recommended that you get off at Exit 5 as you can walk on the main road. If you get off at Exit 4, you need to cut through the market.

Cheonghakdong Buchimgae (Korean pancake) appeared in one of the episodes of Korean TV Show named Infinite Challenge. Besides jeon (pancakes), this store also sells other food such as fried stuff, tteokbokki, sundae soup, etc that go well with alcohol.

At Jeon Alley, you choose the pancakes that you want to eat and put it in the basket. They will calculate the price by weighing the pancakes. You may also request them to heat up the pancake and they can wrap it to make it stay warm too. One of the advantages here is that you can choose just 1 piece of different pancakes, and you are able to try a few types at one time.

Cheonghakdong store has 2 floors, and you can pack it regardless how much you bought. But if you wish to dine in, you have to order more than KRW 10,000.

If you eat it with the sound of rain on a rainy day, you can enjoy it even more. There are also various types of makgeolli that go well with pancakes.

Jeon (pancake) is one of the representative Korean food during festive season in Korea. It is also one of the commonly eaten food in normal days. How about trying these delicious pancakes in Mapo Jeon Alley near Gongdeok Station and feel the Korean festive season?
