[Stay Home Food Talk] Dried Persimmon Roll with Cream Cheese and Walnuts Recipe

In this post, we will introduce to you a simple recipe that can be made together with children at home, by using dried persimmon, a representative fruit of Autumn and Winter, to make dried persimmon roll with cream cheese and walnuts.

Dried Persimmon Roll with Cream Cheese and Walnuts Recipe

Firstly, prepare a wrap to roll the dried persimmons, cream cheese and walnuts.

Before the persimmons are ripened, peel and dry it, you can eat it as a nutritional snack that has chewy texture and high sugar content. It is also good to use it and make some recipes in Autumn.

Most importantly, this fruit is good for health during the change of season because it is low in calories and helps to prevent cough and phlegm. For your information, white powder on the skin is a powder with concentrated sugar, so you can just eat it without washing it.

Remove the dried persimmon stalk and cut about 0.5cm on the top and bottom. Then, cut it vertically at the center and spread it out long.

If there are seeds in the dried persimmon, please remove the seeds. Stack the trimmed dried persimmon so that the end part overlaps slightly, and spread it. It is easy to make just 3 or 3 dried persimmon rolls.

Spread the cream cheese on top of dried persimmon, and put the walnuts too. If you dislike cream cheese, you can put only the walnuts. If you are allergy to nuts or dislike walnuts, you can just put cream cheese. Just modify it according to your own preference.

Wrap the dried persimmon well like gimbap. Then, roll them on a wrap to shape them. You can cut it right away, but it is recommended to leave it in the freezer for a while before you cut it so that the shape will not be changed. Dried persimmon has a high sugar content and a low freezing point, so it won't be difficult to cut because it does not get frozen even if it is left in the freezer.

When the shape is fixed, take it out, cut it into bite-sized pieces, and remove the wrap.

The combination of these three ingredients - chewy sweet dried persimmons, soft cream cheese and savory walnuts - creates a luxurious homemade dessert. The shape is pretty and it is sweet and savory, so it's great to serve as a snack for guests.

The ingredients are simple and this is easy to make. It is also a nice recipe to try with children. These beautifully made dried persimmon can be stored in the freezer. When you want to eat it, just take it out from freezer, wait for it to defrost, then you can eat it.

[Recommended Walking Course in Seoul] Jamwon Hangang Park and Starbucks with Hangang River View

Hangang Park is one of Korea's representative attractions loved by many citizens. It has a panoramic  view of the Hangang River wherever you go and is a well built park that is good for family, lovers or to taking a walk and exercise alone. In this post, we will introduce Jamwon Hangang Park, which is recommended for taking leisure walk and then have a cup of coffee while enjoying the beautiful Hangang River view.

Jamwon Hangang Park

Jamwon Hangang Park is a 5.4 km park located between Banpo Bridge and Hannam Bridge. Other than basketball court and soccer field, there are also various facilities such as outdoor swimming pools in Summer, pink muhly grass in grass garden, duck boat, water leisure sports and camping ground in Autumn, which are loved by many people.

At the end of November, there is still a little Autumn atmosphere in Jamwon Hangang Park. It was good that we could enjoy final moment of Autumn before Winter comes.

Jamwon Hangang Park is well built with bike trail and walking path that has a panoramic view of Hangang River. It makes this a good place to enjoy jogging, walking and cycling.

If you walk along the walking trail heading Hannam Bridge on the right side of Hangang Park, you can see Namsan Tower from far.

The nature learning center here is well equipped with walking trail, shelter and playgrounds, thus making it a lovely place for parents to spend time with their young children. The playground is a eco-friendly climate playground equipped with facilities that combine renewable energy such as wind, solar power and kinetic energy, so children are able to think naturally about the importance of resources and global warming issues as they play here.

You can read about the stories on silkworm's daily life and you can easily see silkworm sculptures here. This is a space created as a silkworm theme learning center that conducts experiential learning program with silkworms to promote rural area.

Jamwon-dong is called "Jamwon-dong" so that it can be different from from Jamsil (in Songpa-gu), where the royal family planted mulberry trees since the reign of King Sejong's reign to encourage silkworming.

As you walk along the trail heading Banpo Bridge, you will find Grass Garden that was still having some Autumn atmosphere left at Jamwon Hangang Park. This is a garden located in a park filled with various plants such as Autumn silver grass and perennial grass along with pink muhly. This place is famous and loved by visitors in Autumn when pink muhly grass is in full bloom.

Thanks to the silver grass that still filled on both sides of the walking path in the gardens even in late November, thus letting you enjoy late Autumn here.

As Winter was approaching at the time of visit, the green plants are slowly disappearing one by one. But we were glad to see some pink muhly grasses on one side of the walking path.

We look forward to next year to seeing the view of Grass Garden that is full of the popular pink muhly grass again. However, we enjoyed the Autumn breeze while taking a quiet walk in this park.

Starbucks (Seoul Wave Art Center)

This is another popular Hangang River view cafe in Jamwon Hangang Park where you can enjoy a cup of warm coffee after taking a walk at the park. Since it was opened in Autumn 2020, it is famous for being the cafe on Hangang River. After one year, it is the popular Starbucks Coffee at Seoul Wave Art Center.

When you enter to the cafe, you can see the landmark of Seoul around Hangang River and the sunlight shinning on Hangang River from the large window. It is such a picturesque scenery! This is a place where you feel relaxed by just looking at the view.

The cafe is quite spacious on the first and second floor, but since it is a popular place, it is not easy to find empty seats by the window. It is recommended to go on Weekdays as it is less crowded compared to the weekends.

The dessert and coffee that we ate after taking a walk, is sweeter and more delicious than everything else.

In this post, we will introduce to you the AREX station that connects to Korea's largest airport.

AREX Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Station is located at the Incheon Airport Transportation Center.

The AREX Express Train that only takes 43 minutes from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station or the city center is now operating as a temporary train that stops at all AREX stations.

※The AREX Express Train will resume its operation starting January 1st, 2022.

Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Station is one of the most happening stations of AREX, but it is eagerly waiting for people to come as the number of visitors have reduced due to COVID-19. In this post, we will share with you the fastest way to get to the passenger terminal from transportation center, convenience facilities and others.

[Fastest Way to Get Off the Train]

-- AREX Incheon Airport T2 Station Direction

You can get off at Car #1-1, #5-4, and take the escalator to go up. When you get off at Car #1-1 to go up, you will come out to the ticket gate of AREX Express Train.

If you get off at Car #3-1, you can take the elevator.

-- AREX Seoul Station Direction

For AREX Seoul Station direction, it is separated by AREX Express train and AREX All-Stop Train.

If you mistakenly got off at the wrong station, you can't take the train at the opposite platform due to the fence placed in the middle of the platform. So please be careful and check twice before getting off the train.

If you get off at Car #4-1, #5-2, and take the escalator to go up, you may exit the station in the fastest way to get to Incheon Airport Passenger Terminal.

If you want to use the elevator, you can get off at Car #2-3.

Let us tell you how to get to the departure hall in the fastest way after getting off at AREX Incheon Airport T1 Station.

After taking the elevator or escalator to go up to B1 floor from the train platform, just pass through the ticket gate, and take the escalator up to get to the Incheon Airport Departure Hall. If you need to use the baggage cart, you can take the moving walk next to the escalator.

There are two restrooms at the AREX Incheon Airport T1 Station, and both are located outside the ticket gate. After coming out from AREX All-Stop Train ticket gate, you can see on restroom on the left. If you come out from AREX Express Train ticket gate, you can see the restroom on the right.

[Convenience Facilities]

--  Customer Information Center

Same like the restroom, you can find a Customer Information Center located outside the ticket gate of AREX Express Train and AREX All-Stop Train.

-- Free Electric Cart Service for vulnerable passengers

Electric cart for the vulnerable (eg. children and elderly) are available to match the arrival time of the AREX train. Since the number of airport passengers has reduced lately, this service is also open for other passengers. There are two carts operating at the moment, and they wait outside the ticket gate of AREX All stop Train and AREX Express Train.

-- ATM

The ATM is located inside the ticket gate of AREX All stop Train and AREX Express Train. When you take the escalator up from the platform, you will be able to see the ATM.

-- Self Exchange Lounge

There is a Self Exchange Lounge for currency exchange that can be found near the AREX All stop Train platform.

However, the Travel Store and Express Train Passengers Lounge are closed due to COVID-19.

When the AREX Express Train operation resumes, the lounge for AREX Express Train passengers will be in operation again.

※The AREX Express Train will resume its operation starting January 1st, 2022.

-- Baggage Cart

You can get a baggage cart right in front of the AREX All-Stop Train ticket gate. There is also an area for baggage cart which can be found under the moving walk near the AREX Express Train ticket gate.

-- Transportation Card (T-money) Vending Machine

There is a self-service transportation card (T-money) vending machine outside AREX All-Stop Train. There are many designs available, so it can be fun to choose the design that you want and buy it.

As AREX Express Train is scheduled to resume its operation on January 1st, 2022, we hope for the day when everyone can travel abroad safely again.
