AREX (Airport Railroad Express) will be taking passengers from Seoul Station to Yongyu Station from March 1 to November 30, 2014. On Saturdays and Sundays, the train goes past Incheon International Airport Station, taking passengers to Yongyu Station where they can easily travel to islands on the West Sea and other nearby attractions.
Yongyu Station, located in Jung-gu, Incheon, has yet to officially open for regular routes. Prior to the opening, this station will only be accessible to those taking the West Sea train trips. The station itself is located very close to the coast line, offering an impressive view of the sea.
Geojampo Beach and Masian Beach are located just across from the station. Seonnyeo (Fairy) Rock Beach, Eurwangni Beach, Wangsan Beach are just ten minutes away from the station by bus (Bus 302 or 306 from the bus station in front of Yongyu Station). From Jamjindo Island ferry dock, which is just a 20-minute walk from the station, visitors can take a ferry going Muuido Island, SoMuuido Island and Silmi Island.
Trains from Seoul Station to Yongyu Station depart at 39 minutes after every hour from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (first train 7:39 a.m.; last train 5:39 p.m.). Trains from Yongyu Station to Seoul Station depart from 9:27 a.m. to 7:27 p.m., with trains leaving at one-hour intervals in between.
The train service to the West Sea is available during weekends, Korean public holidays and special occasions. The fare for the trains is the same as a ticket from Seoul Station to Incheon International Airport Station. If departing from Incheon International Airport Station, the base fare will be applied.
