Smart Use of the Airport Railroad

1. Passengers of Mugunghwa and Saemaul trains can now receive discounts on Airport Railroad tickets.

Previously, only passengers transferring between the KTX and Airport Railroad Express trains could receive a discount on Airport Railroad tickets, called Linked Tickets, at a price of KRW 6,900, from the usual price of KRW 8,000. However, eligibility for this discount has recently been expanded. Passengers traveling on any Korail train (except Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit trains) can visit an Airport Railroad Customer Center on the same day of travel and present their train ticket to get a discount on their Airport Railroad ticket. Passengers traveling on ITX, Samaeul, or Mugunghwa trains are eligible for the discount.

If you forget to purchase a Linked Ticket in advance, you may still get the discount if you visit an Airport Railroad Customer Center on the same day of travel.

2. Discounts offered through events and promotions.

 There are various events and promotions offering Airport Railroad Express train tickets at the discounted price of KRW 6,900.

  How foreigners can get discounts on Express train tickets:

- Inside coupon books that can be found at the airport or Korea Grand Sale venues, there are discount coupons that you can present to staff at the Airport Railroad Customer Centers. This discount is offered until February 16, 2014.

- China UnionPay card holders can print out discount coupons on the China UnionPay website. This offer is available until March 31, 2014.

- Holders of ISIC, ITIC, and IYTC cards, issued by ISIC, can get discounts by presenting these cards at the time of ticket purchase. This offer is available until December 31, 2014.
