The place that presents unforgettable fantastic night view of downtown Seoul~ Gwanghwamun Plaza


Gwanghwamun Plaza coexits with tradition and modernity. Its beautiful night view is one of the most popular attractions to foreigners visiting Korea. If you would go to this plaza, you would better take Incheon Airport Railroad at Incheon Int’l Airport or Gimpo Int’l Airport and then transfer to subway line 5 at Gongdeok Station, get off and come out of exit 9 at Gwanghwamun Station.

There are exhibition halls of King Sejong’s story and Admiral Yi Sun-shin’s story, below the surface of this plaza, that visitors can experience some of Korea’s History. This exhibition hall is open from 10 am to 9 pm. Entrance is free.

There are various sculptures at Gwanghwamun Plaza. A bronze statue of Admiral Yi Sun-shin, one of heroes in the Koreans, at the southernmost of this plaza and a statue of King Sejong who created Hangul, Korean alphabet, many inventions like Cheugugi-a rainfall gauge-, sundial have been getting big spotlights from visitors.
