Greeting from AREX :)
I will tell you about
Nodeulsum, a place in the heart of Seoul where you can get some healing time
alongside nature.
On September 28th,
2019, Nodeulsum was reborn as a cultural complex.
Nodeulsum
Nodeulsum is located in Yongsangu’s
Ichondong neighborhood in Seoul. It’s a man-made island in the Han River that
has been reborn as a culture complex with culture and art coexisting
side-by-side.
Having been empty for over 50 years,
Nodeulsum now hosts public music performances, a large bookstore, a botanical
workshop, and more.
Go and make memories that you will
cherish for years to come with your precious loved ones in the heart of the
city and in the middle of nature.

Nodeulsum Reborn as a
Culture Complex
The building at Nodeulsum is
divided into 3 different floors. There is “Live House” which is a 456 seated
auditorium for large public performances and exhibitions, “Music Lounge: Ryu”
to listen to stories and music while receiving healing, “Voi” the bike café,
“Re:Code” the upcycling fashion brand, a fermented lounge bar, a botanical
culture area in nature, and more. We hope you try out and enjoy the over 20
different spaces available and have a great time.
Recommended Healing Space:
Space 445
Space 445 is one of the
various areas within Nodeulsum. This space showcases the Breeze Art Fair which
is a market and exhibition that hosts small independent brands from different
areas which sell their goods with their own unique philosophies taken from their
regions.
It’s not just a typical
market, either. The brands are divided in a way to allow everyone to
communicate with and explain their works to others. It aims for the value of
“slow consumption” and to allow people to personally feel the pull of each
other’s handiwork.
*Operation Period
: 10.15 ~ 12.31
*Operating Hours and
Place :11:00 ~ 22:00 (Closed Mondays) / 1F
Recommended Healing Space :
Nodeul Bookstore
Secondly, we have Nodeul Bookstore which is
located on the first and second floors. Every season the circulating curation
of books changes and there are storytelling stands of books full of with
philosophy and values of people who advance book culture. Whether you read a
book or write something by yourself, it’s a space where everything is deeply
connected to books.
The first floor is divided into areas for
individual publishers who have their own unique values and philosophy in
addition to a storytelling stand. Every
book on the various book stands is for sale.
Further, editors can get a peek with their
own eyes at deep storying telling, behind the scenes stories, and book making
processes.
The second floor has a viewing room and areas for book discussion,
transcription, and more for selected daily authors every quarter. The
expectation is to start book reading and writing clubs in addition to unique
lectures so unique book culture programs can put on events for its visitors.
*Operating Hours and Place :11:00 ~ 22:00 (Closed Mondays) / 1F, 2F
Diverse Healing Program
Downtown
That’s not all; Nodeulsum
also has other diverse programs.

there is a party for people to communicate through art, the 2019 art market
“Breeze Art Fair” which can be enjoyed with a pet companion, and other programs

singers!
Nodeulsum is always
celebrating its visitors through colorful events.
