[Walking Course in Seoul] Dongjak Chunghyo-gil Course 2 - Hyeonchungwon-gil (Seoul National Cemetery Walking Path)

 


Due to COVID-19 situation, many people start to enjoy a walk outdoor and hiking instead of staying indoor. In fact, they are many nice walking course in Korea!



There are 7 walking courses in the city whereby you can enjoy beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers while you walk. Autumn is definitely the best time to visit these places. In this post, we will introduce you Dongjak Chunghyo-gil, which is located in Dongjak-gu.





There is a total of 7 walking courses for Dongjak Chunghyo-gil.

Course 1 - Gogudongsan-gil is about 3km from Nodeul Station, passing through Seodalsan Mountain, to the Seoul National Cemetery entrance.

Course 2 - Seoul National Cemetery trail is about 3.4km, from Seoul National Cemetery entrance to Dongjak Station.

Course 3 - Hangang Nadeul trail is about 4.6km, from Dongjak Station to Noryangjin Station.

Course 4 - Noryangjin trail is about 3.4km, from Noryangjin Station, passing by Yongmasan, to the Sindaebang Samgeori.

Course 5 - Boramae trail is about 2.9km, from Sindaebang Samgeori.to Boramae Station.

Course 6 - Dongjak maru trail, from Sindaebang Samgeori, passing through Guksabong, to the Seoul National Cemetery Entrance.

Course 7 - Kkachisan path, from Seoul National Cemetery Entrance, passing through Kkachisan, to Sadang Station.



Among the 7 walking courses, we will be taking a walk on the Course 2 - Hyeonchungwon-gil (Seoul National Cemetery Walking Path) To get there, please transfer from AREX Seoul Station to Subway Line 4 and get off at Dongjak Station. This is where the walking course begins. 





After getting off at Dongjak Station Exit 3, you need to cross the pedestrian bridge, and you arrive at the starting point of Seoul National Cemetery walking path.



The Seoul National Cemetery walking path, starting from Dongjak Station, has a stairs at the starting point where you need to walk up.




Even though it is a little tiring to walk up the climbs, you will be able to enjoy amazing view after walking up.






There is pavilion and resting area at some of the areas along the Seoul National Cemetery walking path. In addition, you can also find some exercise equipment for foot acupressure and to keep you healthy.




There are some chairs called the "chair of filial piety phone call"  installed here. The purpose of this chair is for you to sit down, and to call your parents and talk to them (for those who are too busy to call them on normal days).




Besides that, there are areas where you can check them out along the walking path, such as Memorial Gate and Isu Waterfall Park, so it is quite fun to look around too.




The Seoul National Cemetery trail is a walking path along the Seoul National Cemetery Wall. It is suitable to walk at anytime throughout the four seasons.




Along the way, you will see the entrance of the Seoul National Cemetery. The access to this place may be restricted due to COVID-19 and  the social distancing level. If you want to enter the Seoul National Cemetery as well, please check if access is available before your visit.




Take a walk at the Seoul National Cemetery Walking Path in the Autumn to enjoy the fresh air and nature.



[Information about Dongjak Chunghyo-gil - Hyeonchungwon-gil (Seoul National Cemetery Walking Path)]


1. Getting There : At AREX Seoul Station, transfer to Subway Line 4 / At AREX Gimpo Airport Station, Transfer to Subway Line 9 ▶  Get off at Dongjak Station, Exit 3.

2. Address : San 11-1, Dongjak-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul  

3. Time required to complete the course : Approx. 1 hour 10 mins
