At Seoul Station, the heart of Seoul, you may take the Airport Railroad (AREX), KTX, Saemaeul train, Subway Line 1 and 4, Gyeongui Jungang Line, and some other transportation. It is normally crowded and if you are not familiar with the station, it might be a bit complicated to move around. Therefore, in this post, we will be giving you some tips on how to get around in Seoul Station.
[Fastest way to transfer]
B7 (Platform)
The fastest way to transfer to Subway Line 1 and 4 from the Airport Railroad line is to get off at Car #2-1 and use the escalator. If you wish to take the elevator, you can get off at car #3-2. If you want to get to the Exit 1 to 15 in the fastest way, you will also need to get off at Car #3-2.
B6 Floor
For the convenience of the passengers, the traffic direction in Seoul Station is on the left, unlike the other stations that are on the right side. Please ensure you take the escalator on the correct side to prevent injury.
The elevator does not stop at B6 floor. When you take the elevator at B7 floor (Platform), it will bring you up to B3 floor without stopping at any other floors.
B3 Floor
If you go up to B3 floor, you will find the boarding gates for KTX and Saemaul trains as well as to transfer to the Gyeongui-jungang Line and Exit 1 to 15. Once you have tag the transportation card at the ticket gate to get out, you won't be able to transfer to Subway Line 1 and 4 (It is possible to transfer to Gyeongui-jungang Line. Thus, please take note of this.
Get to Exit 15
Exit 15 is located on the 1F. You can use escalator or elevator to go up to the first floor. As soon as you come up to the first floor, you will see Baskin Robbins, and the Exit 15 will be on the left. If you take the escalator to go up again, you can go to the platform to take the KTX and Saemaeul trains, or transfer the Gyeongui-jungang Line.
To Transfer to Subway Line 1 and 4 & Get to Exit 1 - 14
There is a moving walk where you can walk comfortably to get to the Subway Line 1 and 4, and Exit 1 - 14. If you are bringing heavy luggage, it is recommended to use the elevator before using the moving walk.
In the middle of the passageway, there is a monitor that displays the train information, so you can check it.
There will be no additional fare if you tag your transportation card at the transfer gate when you transfer to Subway Line 1 and 4.
There are also many facilities available in the Seoul Station. In the next section, we will share some information about the Seoul Station meeting rooms which are available in 2 floors, the smart help desk, and AI voice recognition ticket machine as well as facilities that are currently suspended due to COVID-19.
[Main Facilities]
Restrooms
There are 3 restrooms in Seoul Station.
1. One is located on the B3 floor, inside the gate, on the way to moving walkway.
2. Another restroom is located outside the ticket gate at B3 floor, near the customer information center.
3. You can also find a restroom behind the Travel Center at B2 floor.
B3 Floor

2. There is one restroom outside the ticket gate on B3 floor, which is near the customer information center.
- B2 Floor -
On the B2 Floor, the restroom is located behind the Travel Center.
[ Convenience Facilities ]
Convenience stores inside the station
There are 2 convenience stores in AREX station - one on the B3 floor and one on the 1st floor.
B3 Floor
When you take the escalator up from B6 floor, you will see the GS25 convenience store right in front of you.
1st Floor
Near the Exit 15 and right beside the Spee and Nareu mascot, you will see a GS25 convenience store.
Conference Room
There are 6 conference rooms at Seoul Station. Conference Room No. 1 - 3 are located on the B1 floor while Conference Room No. 4 - 6 are located on the B3 floor.
If you wish to use it, you can make reservation on the AREX website (*Booking for meeting room*)
Conference Room 1, 2, 3 (B1 floor)
If you take the escalator from B2 floor, you will go straight to 1st floor. So please use the stairs located next to the escalator to get to the conference rooms on B1 floor.
Conference Room 4, 5, 6 (B3 floor)
The Conference Room No. 4, 5, 6 is located on the right side of the AREX All-stop train ticket gate on B3 floor.
When you use the Conference Room, you may order for catering service from the restaurants in Seoul Station. If you order the catering, you can get discounts too.
[Facilities that are temporarily suspended]
The AREX Express Train and City Airport Terminal services are on the B2 floor of Seoul Station. However, all major facilities are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Currently, only the Korean restaurant and Currency Exchange Center are available now.

Currency Exchange Center
The currency exchange center operating hours are shorter due to COVID-19 but you can use the currency exchange ATM when the center is closed.
- Operating hours: 09:00 to 18:00 (closed on Saturdays and public holidays)
- Effective date: 2021.01.25 (Monday) until further notice
Korean restaurant
The Korean restaurant next to the ticket gate of AREX Express Train is currently still operating.
Customer Information Center
The Customer Information Center is on B3 floor, outside of the AREX All-stop Train ticket gate, and it can be found on the left side.
※Please press the bell next to the door when you visit the customer information center!
ATM
There are two Kookmin Bank ATM on the B3 floor. There is one next to the GS25 convenience store inside the ticket gate, and the other one is next to the escalator outside the ticket gate.
Smart Help Desk
Before leaving the ticket gate, you will see Spee and Nareu mascot outside the restroom Next to the mascot, you will find a smart help desk. Smart Help Desk provides voice recognition, location-based map and road view services, as well as information about major tourist attractions, festivals/performances, restaurants, transportation and response in emergency situation.There is also a free call feature where you can make real-time reservations and for communication purpose.
Locker
The locker area is located outside the ticket gate, just opposite the ticket machine.
Ticket Vending Machine (Normal and AI)
The normal ticket vending machines are located on the right side of the customer information center while AI voice recognition ticket vending machines are located opposite the customer information center. There are ticket machines on the both side so you don't have to wait too long.
Transportation Card Vending Machine
You can buy the transportation card from the vending machine next to the AI voice recognition ticket vending machine. T-money transportation card can be used to take subway and buses.
Smoking area
There is a smoking area near the exit to the shuttle bus boarding area which is on the right side of Baskin Robbins (1F).
Note: Shuttle buses are not operating at the moment.
Shops inside Seoul Station
The shops in Seoul Station can be found on 1F and 2F. There are restaurants where you can eat, cafes where you can enjoy dessert, and optical shop when you need to buy glasses or lenses urgently.

You can eat some food or wait comfortably in a cafe while waiting for the train.
[Attraction near Seoul Station]
Seoullo 7017 was once an elevated highway and is now transformed into an elevated public park for citizens in Seoul. The project was to spearhead the urban regeneration of the area around. There are two ways to get to Seoullo 7017 from Seoul Station. Firstly, get off at Seoul Station Exit 1 and 2. Secondly, get off at Seoul Station Exit 15 which is nearer to the AREX line.
1. Walk from Seoul Station Exit 15.
If you get off from Seoul Station Exit 15 and turn right, you will see the taxi stand. Just walk along the taxi waiting area and you will come to a crosswalk.
After crossing the crosswalk, you will find Malli-dong Square. To go up to Seoullo 7017, you can use the elevator next to Malli-dong Square Traveler Lounge.
You can take the elevator up to Seoullo 7017. Besides coming from Seoul Station, Seoullo 7017 is also accessible from Jungnim-dong, Malli-dong and Toegye-ro.
Currently, the exhibition entitled "Another World" is happening at Seoullo 7017. Not only you can enjoy walking here, you will be able to learn and experience other things.
