In this post, we will introduce you the beautiful Eunpyeong Hanok Village which you can visit on a dazzling summer day, without traveling far from Seoul.
This is a new Hanok Village, near the Bukhansan Mountain, that has about 150 Korean traditional houses. Compared to Bukchon Hanok Village or Namsangol, Eunpyeong Hanok Village was formed quite recently and has its own charm. Let's start our tour by walking leisurely along the signboard from the entrance.
Many people avoid visiting Bukchon Hanok Village on hot summer day because you need to climb the slope at Bukchon. However, Eunpyeong Hanok Village is a flat land so it is easy to take a walk here even during Summer. As you walking around in this hanok village, you will meet the beautiful Korean houses, poppy flowers, wild flowers and others that put a smile on the visitors face.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village was developed in 2012 in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. The relocation began in 2015 and it became a new style Hanok Village. It is a beautiful place with natural scenery along the Dulle-gil of Bukhansan Mountain.
The two-story Hanok houses and alleyways that are neatly arranged look just like you are in Seoul, but each time you walk pass, it gives you the impression that you are walking in a different world. Unlike Bukchon Hanok Village where it is surrounded by high-rise buildings, Eunpyeong Hanok Village offers a nice scenery of Bukhansan Mountain for you to enjoy. There are free exhibitions held at a few places, making it perfect for you to have a simple and quiet time.
After walking some time, you can see the Jingwan Wildlife Protection Area signboard. When you enter the forest trail full of wooden deck and trees, you will see the green protected trees and a small stream flowing.
After you exit from the wooden deck path, you will come to the best spot of Eunpyeong Hanok Village. The harmony of cosmos flowers and hanok village provides a calm beauty.
As you walk slowly and tour around the Hanok Village, you can also find the Hanok Museum located at the entrance of the Hanok Village. If you are visiting with children, we recommend you to also visit the museum for a unique experience. The view from a high ground offers a wonderful and breathtaking picture consisting the blue sky, Bukhansan Mountain and Hanok Village.
