[Stay Home Food Talk] Rose Tteokbokki Recipe


Due to COVID-19, many of us have been staying at home for a long time now. Although we wish to travel to somewhere this Summer, some might have cancelled their Summer vacation because of the tightening of social distancing rules. In this post, we will share with you a simple recipe on how to make Rose Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cake). If you are staying at home during this Summer vacation, we recommend you to try this recipe!

 








Tteokbokki is one of the most popular snacks in Korea to the extent that it is difficult to find anyone who dislikes tteokbokki. We will introduce to you how to make Rose Tteokbokki, which suddenly become a trendy tteokbokki menu.


How to make Rose Tteokbokki?

Ingredients to prepare:

Rice cake - 300g
Fish cake - 3 pcs
Packaged Rose pasta sauce - 120g
Milk - 200ml
Water - 200ml
Onions - 30g
Mushrooms - 20g
Garlic - 3 cloves
Bacon - 3 slices
 
Red pepper paste - 1.5T
Red pepper powder - 2.5T
Soy sauce - 1T,
Sugar - 1.5T
Msg - 0.5T
Cheddar cheese - 1 slice






Firstly, fry the garlic and bacon in a pan with oil. Once the garlic starts to spread its aroma, fry the mushrooms and onions.






When the ingredients are cooked, put in Rose pasta sauce 120g, Milk 200ml, Water 200ml, Red pepper paste 1.5T, Red pepper powder 2.5T,  Soy sauce 1T, Sugar 1.5T, Msg 0.5T and stir them well. If you use whipped cream instead of milk, the rose tteokbokki will be more savory and rich.


*Note: Packet rose pasta sauce was used.
If it is difficult to get this packet sauce, you may mix tomato pasta sauce and whipped cream in 5:4 ratio.



Add the rice cakes and chopped fish cakes, boil and stir well over medium-low heat until the rice cakes are tender. Finally, add a slice of cheddar cheese and stir it well with the sauce. Boil it until the sauce becomes slightly thick.




Next, put it on a pretty plate. The spicy and savory rose tteokbokki made with milk is served!




STEPS:


1. Onions 30g, Mushrooms 20g, 3 cloves of garlic, 3 slices of bacon. Put oil in the pan and fry it.

2. Packet rose pasta sauce 120g, Milk 200ml, Water 200ml, Red pepper paste 1.5T, Red pepper powder 2.5T,  Soy sauce 1T, Sugar 1.5T, and Msg 0.5T. Put in and stir well.

3. Add rice cakes and fish cakes; boil until rice cakes are tender.

4. Add a slice of cheddar cheese and put it on a pretty plate. It's served!
