[AREX 999] Renewed Express Train Ticketing Machines and How to Use Them

Greeting from AREX :)

I will tell you about the renewed Express train ticketing machines and express trains you can take to quickly and easily go from the airport to the middle of the city.

Using the New Express Train Ticket Machines

The ticketing machines for the express trains has been updated. Now it will be easier to use and more user-friendly for both residents and travelers alike.
You can easily purchase a ticket and receive discounts in four languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

2

Using the machines is simple.
After choosing your language, select your destination.

If by chance you do not know where you are going or just want to look at the train map, you can check by clicking the metropolitan city train map and find your destination a little more easily.

3

Next, while selecting your train, it is easier than ever before to confirm the departure and line numbers.
Further, you previously could only select the train and number of passengers. However, now with the new ticketing machines its possible to choose the forward-facing and reverse-facing seats.
Also, you can view in real time the availability of seats and wheelchair seats to plan more comfortably.

4

A huge advantage of the renewed ticking machines is that now you can receive discounts before your purchase.
Before, passengers would have to visit the information desk and follow the directions of the worker there.  However, now that’s no longer a problem and it can all be done at the ticketing machine.

When purchasing three or more tickets at a single time, a group discount of 7,500 won is available, while there are a variety of other discounts to take advantage of as well such as airline alliance discounts, return coupons, course discounts, etc.

Additionally, passengers with a discount voucher can scan the QR code or simply enter the voucher number to receive a discount.

5

It’s possible to make a purchase with both cash or a credit card.

After moving up the Namsan Trail, you will find yourself at Seoul Tower (old name Namsan Tower) and see a sea of locks. After appearing on various variety shows, this spot became a popular date spot to buy a lock, write one’s initials or name on it, and grow closer to your partner by sharing a meaningful moment with your partner.

At the top, you can see a spread-out view of the city and all of the locks other people left. There is even a fun duck and tree lock on the first floor.

Beautiful Night Views From N Tower

While enjoying the view, it became night in no time.

Here in Namsan Tower, light shine even during the beautiful night.  In particular, the changing neon lights of the tower and the magnificent views from above are quite a sight.
