[Travel Online] Popular Attractions To Enjoy Lotus Flowers in Incheon - Ganghwa Island Gogu Reservoir

Beauty can't be hidden even if you try to hide it. This is exactly the case for these lotus flowers that blooms in Ganghwa Island's Gogu Reservoir. This year, the lotus flowers were expected to be in full bloom in August. However, it was never an easy journey for the petals to bloom due to the weather in August.

You can enjoy the view of lotus flowers that fill the waterfront as you walking along the nicely installed deck. However, watch your steps as you walk while you fall in love with these beautiful lotus flowers. You can walk along the deck to get to the two-storey pavilion, and it's easy to find the Gogu Reservoir from afar.

The scenery of Ganghwa Island Gogu Reservoir from the pavilion makes you feel like the scene in fairy tale where a princess lives in this place. Let's take a moment to enjoy the dreamy yet beautiful scenery.

Many people worried that the unusual long rainy season would have washed all the lotus leaves away, but it can still be seen on the water. However, the lotus flowers that are weaker than lotus petals were falling earlier than expected. Even so, you can see bees and butterflies that attracted to the scent of flowers and play around them.

The Gogu Reservoir is also known as the sacred place for Grand Duke Jiang. There are many fishermen who spend their time alone here. The lotus, which grows in mud and is more beautiful than any other flowers, is also known as the flower that represents the paradise. Perhaps the Grand Duke Jiang was fishing for time in the western paradise. ^^

The travel style has changed since the outbreak of COVID-19. Some of you used to find more happening destinations, but now perhaps you prefer a quiet place where it is not crowded. If that is the case, Ganghwa Island Gogu Reservoir is the perfect place as it is a quiet place to enjoy. By just looking at the reservoir without doing anything special seems to help you in releasing stress.

Here is a picture of Nareu with the scenery of Ganghwa Island Gogu Reservoir in Summer as background! Will it bloom again next summer? If you can't visit Gogu Reservoir this summer, that is okay. Let's plan a trip together next Summer!

[Summer Outing] Anyang Sammaksa Valley

Let us bring you to Anyang Sammaksa Valley this summer!

Anyang Sammaksa Valley is one of the popular places for many people during summer. It is located in the city, so you can get there in 30 mins by taking bus from Gwanak Station. It is definitely a good idea to enjoy refreshing clean valley water and green forests to keep cool during hot summer.

Sammaksa Valley is located in front of the main gate of Gyeongin National University of Education. Walk up from the Sammaksa Valley parking lot and you will see the valley on right side. There is no entrance fee for the valley, so just find a spot that you like and enjoy the cooling water. Do bring snacks, drinks, and mat along too.

Usually after rainy day, there will be a lot of water in the valley. This place is so popular that it is hard to find empty spot on weekends, especially during Summer. It is good to visit this place early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

It is difficult to find convenience store or mart in this area, so it is good to pack some food such as sandwiches, bread and snacks.

But there is toilet available in this area, so don't worry if you need to use the washroom.

There are several areas to walk down to the valley.

For your information, activities such as camping, cooking and fishing in the valley are prohibited. If you bring food, please make sure to keep the trash with you.

One of the reasons why Sammaksa Valley is so popular is that the water is not too deep so it is okay for children to play in the water. If you visit this place three days after the rain, the water level is normally just on the knee of an adult.

The water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the valley. In the hot summer, you can see not only children but also adults enjoying the refreshing water as it allows you to have some relaxation time by just sitting there with your feet dipped in the water.

The downstream is more recommended if you want to play in the water.

There is also a small waterfall and water holes from the narrow rock gaps in the middle of the valley. This spot is popular for people who want to play in the water with tubes.
