It becomes more convenient for your tour in Myeong-dong and Dongdaemun by using subway

The transfer passageway of Seoul station of Korail airport railroad will be opened on 28th, March.

 

It becomes more convenient to travel Seoul downtown area such as Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun by using subways from Incheon and Gimpo airport starting from March 28, 2015.

 

Myeong-dong, regarded as the No.1 tour attraction, is near Myeong-dong station of subway line 2 & 4. While Dongdaemun market is close to subway line 4, DDP(Dongdaemun Design Plaza) which NY times recently selected as one of must-see 10 attractions in 2015 is adjacent to Dongdaemun history & culture park station of subway line 2 & 4.

 

By the way, once the transfer passageway connecting Seoul station of Korail airport railroad with Seoul station of subway line 1 & 4 is opened on March 28, passengers can go more conveniently to these tourist attractions through Seoul station of Korail airport railroad.

 

For now, there's no transfer passageway. Passengers should come out of gates for regular train and then walk up to 2nd floor, passing through the waiting room of KTX Seoul station, going to the subway station to transfer from Seoul station of Korail airport railroad. It caused inconvenience to passengers.

 

At this present, some tourists who'd like to go to Myeong-dong or Dongdaemun get on Korail airport railroad at Incheon or Gimpo airport station and then transfer to subway line 2 at Hongdae station.

 

But once a transfer passageway is opened, passengers can go to the platform of subway line 1 &4 through the transfer passageway from the 3rd basement of Seoul station of Korail airport railroad.

The transfer passageway of Seoul station reaches 304m in length( 7.4m in width) and will be equipped with 4 moving walkers, 6 escalators and 3 elevators.

 

The transfer passageway will have transfer time shortened from 15 minutes to 5 minutes in subway line 4 and also from 12 minutes to 7 minutes in subway line 1 from Seoul station of Korail airport railroad. Above all, passengers can transfer with the disposable traffic card that foreign tourists use a lot.

 

There is only a precaution in using transfer passageway. You can get a transfer discount only in using the transfer passageway. In case you come out of the gate of Korail railroad and then pass through the waiting room of KTX Seoul station, go to subway line 1 & 4 with traffic card, the transfer discount can't be applied.
