Since They Were Here, We Are Now! Introduction to the War Memorial of Korea

Hello.
June is Veterans Memorial Month in Korea!
Today I will introduce the War Memorial of Korea, where we can learn the importance of peace through the horrors of war.

The War Memorial of Korea is filled with the history of war and is a place that allows us to prevent future wars through the lessons learned by past wars,
the collection and preservation of wartime artifacts, and the history of struggle against external forces that protected the lives and properties of Korea’s citizens.

Spirit of the Patriots
Country Defense Commemorative Room

Experiencing historically numerous wars and being able to create todays Korea is thanks to the patriots who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.

In the commemorative room of the troops, you can cherish the memoires and
admire the great achievements of Koreas troops who have fallen in wars and combat to this date.

6·25 The Sad History and Horrors of War
6·25 War Room

In the 6·25 War Room, you can feel the battlefield more vividly by experiencing Korean history which suffers the pain of division and
the process of seeking refuge during the Battle of Incheon in the 4D Experience Room.

U.N. Room

The U.N. sent troops to Korea to block North Korean aggression and fight for freedom and peace.
At the U.N. Room, you can see the actions and history of the U.N. that helped the Republic of Korea.

Further, you can learn about the supportive actions that the U.N. took after 6·25 to assist Korea in recovering from the damages of war in addition to the help the U.N. provided that
lead to the economic development that transformed Korea, also known as Korea’s slogan, “the Miracle on the Han River”.

The large exhibition located outside of the War Memorial of Korea showcases equipment used at the time of the 6·25 War in addition
