[AREX Monthly Station] The Core of Seoul, Seoul Station





Hello. While located in Dongja-dong, Yongsan-gu, the center of Seoul, this station allows transfers 
between subway lines number 1 and 4. Today, I introduce to you AREX’s Seoul Station.






Seoul Station is home to various places to eat such as Cafe Ding-Dong and Noodle King while also 
featuring a THE FACE SHOP and amenities such as meeting rooms. 






In the basement level 2 of Seoul Station,

boarding procedures, baggage check-in, departure screenings, etc. can all be done at one time 
without having to wait thanks to the downtown airport terminal.





Now shall we take a look at what there is to see nearby Seoul Station?



[ Seoullo 7017: Korea’s Skypark]



Seoullo 7017 boasts approximately 24,000 trees, of which there are 50 families and 228 species, 
along its long stretching skypark. Further, it also has mist fountains, a skywalk, and more, 
connecting it with the surrounding neighborhood.  
So, how about taking a look at the green gardens of Seoullo 7017 and the city of Seoul all in one go?



[ Seoul Station’s Hot Place: Culture Station Seoul 284]


The look of Seoul Station of the past lives on at the Culture Station Seoul 284 where various 
exhibitions of more ordinary times are on display. 
The elegance of the old Seoul Station matches well with the art pieces on display evoking a strange beauty.

Four different artists put their individual touch on the theme of the passing of time and various 
sceneries by utilizing a 235m wall and their own personalities.

Love and hope, the passage to harmony and communication, a time-flowing soundscape. 
Come to appreciate a future once only confined within our imaginations but now laden throughout Cheongpa Future City.

In the pig’s feet alley, restaurants stand side-by-side 
where you can try all sorts of varieties of pig’s feet including medicinal pig’s feet, 
spicy pig’s feet, pig’s feet with chilled vegetables, etc. 




Due to it’s generous portion size and chewy texture, 
this alley is highly sought after by those getting off of work and their many co-workers. 



3. Year-Round Hot Korean Pancakes Off the Griddle



Following pig’s feet alley just a bit, 
you can find yourself at the Korean pancake alley!


Here you can discover dozens of Korean pancakes and fried foods 

such as mung-bean pancakes, vegetable pancakes, and the like.







4. The Genuine Gongdeok Market!!





Passing the vegetable pancake restaurant and going straight 

we have the Gongdeok Market.

Between many tall buildings, the old stores and alleyways radiate the antique 
atmosphere of the market.




Wherever you go, there’s nothing as fun as enjoying the sites of the market, 

don’t you think?

From Seoul Station(0), take the AREX for “1“ stop 

and you’re at the Gongdeok Market Station!

From here, get off the train and leave through exit “4”.

First, choose the language (Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese)

Second, choose the picture you want.
(Left) Prints out the specified picture.
(right) Print out the pictures you post.


Third, wait about 2 minutes with the expectation.


(The price is 6,000 won and can only be used after charging.)

The streets are full of cherry blossoms after the early April.
Let me introduce you to good places to see cherry blossoms 
that you can take on AREX.




#1. Incheon Grand Park 

(Geomam Station - Transfer of Incheon Line 2 - Exit 3 of Incheon Grand Park Station)

More than 800 large royal cherry trees over 40 years old show off their magnificent features.

This year, LED lights were installed at the entrance of Baekbeom Plaza to the Children's Zoo 
in order to enjoy cherry blossoms at night during the cherry blossoms season. 
You can leave the best picture ever.

From April 10 to 16, you can enjoy the night cherry blossoms until 10:30 p.m. each day.





#2. Jayu Park

(Geomam Station - Transfer of Incheon Line 2 - Transfer of Juan Station 
- Exit 1 of Incheon Station) 


Jayu Park is Korea's first western modern park.
At the center of the park, there is a statue of MacArthur built to commemorate the Incheon Landing Operation, and an observatory is installed in front of it. 

It is meaningful because you can take a 
walk along the Cherry blossoms trail along the perimeter of the Jayu Park and enjoy 
the historical tour at once.



#3. SK Incheon Petrochemical 
Cherry blossoms

(Geomam Station - Transfer of Incheon Line2 - Exit 4 of the GaJeong Station 
- 80 Bus Transfer - Exit of the Youth Training Center)


SK Incheon Petrochemical's Cherry blossoms Hill, also known as the filming location for 
"I Love You" which made Gangpool's webtoon into a movie.

A total of 600 cherry blossoms trees form a dense cluster here.

From April 9 to 14, there will be a 2019 Happy Sharing Cherry blossoms Festival
 at Cherry blossoms Hill. 

You can enjoy various events and experiences with social values and eco-friendly themes.



#4. Seokchon Lake Cherry blossoms Festival

(Transportation of Hongik University Station - Line 2 Exit 3 of Jamsil Station)

The Seokchon Lake Cherry blossoms Festival, where more than 1,000 king cherry blossoms 
branches build a cherry blossoms tunnel, changes the cherry blossoms into different colors 
of lighting over time.

Under the theme of "In Your Heart, Blooming Cherry blossoms," 
you will have a lovely cherry blossoms scene from April 5 to 12, as well as busking and concerts.



#5. Jangbong Island Cherry blossoms Festival

(Bus Transfer No. 201,307 at Unseo Station-Sammok Shipyard 
- Riding Ships to Jangbong Island)

The cherry blossoms are gone, and you're still sad to send them away? 
The last cherry blossoms festival in Korea, Jangbong Island, is also the cherry blossoms festival.

Jangbong Island is a small island which stretches east and west of the stem ridge centered 
on Kuksabong at an altitude of 150m

This year, on April 13, Jangbong Island will also have a family health walking contest for cherry blossoms, so you will be able to enjoy the cherry blossoms in good health.
