The emblem of Ewha Women’s University, became tourists’ attraction is a pear flower


The campus of Ewha Women’s University, located in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, Korea, is famous for its beautiful scenery which exude the scent of season in all seasons- spring, summer, fall and winter- and so became the urban favorite attraction regardless of gender or age. It shows off colorful spring flowers in spring and offers thickly wooded shelters in summer. This campus is catching eyes with colorful fall foliage and heaps of fallen leaves in autumn. It draws lots of visitors' attention with snowy scenes and bijou buildings in winter.
 
Currently, late autumn flavor is prevalent at Ewha Women’s University. It is not too much to say that the campus dressed in colorful fall is the most beautiful image of Ewha Women's University.

During the semester these days, Ewha is full of activities. Winter vacation starts between late November and early December around the end of the fall.
The main gate of the University is swarmed with students ,busy running with full of major books in their arms, and foreign tourists visiting here. The wall embossed pear flowers at the main gate of the university is the representative attraction taken commemorative photo by foreigners. ‘Ewha’ symbolizes ‘fortune’ in the Chinese and so this pear flower wall is more popular to Chinese tourists.

Ewha Welcome center is located next to the main gate of the university. It was built for tourists lately. This center has an image room taking a look at Ewha’s history and also has a gift shop.

The building just seen at the main gate of the university is the main auditorium. Going up stairs through the trees, you can find this auditorium. Mingled with trees dressed in fall, it’s picturesque view is very popular among tourists. Students attend a chapel(christian sermon) once a week at this place. A chapel takes place here every morning.

There is a building looked like a staircase next to the main auditorium. Here is ECC(Ewha Campus Complex). This building, designed by French architect Dominique Perrault, was built in 2008. Made with a four-floor building and a basement, this building has commercial facilities such as a theater(art house ‘Momo’), fitness center, restaurants, bank. reading rooms for students, and lecture rooms.

If you look around ECC, let’s go to the garden created upwards ECC. Please don’t miss this place. This garden, called ‘Ewha park among enrolled students, is very popular as a rest area with Ewha students and also as a photo zone with tourists. This garden is covered with royal azelea in full blossom in spring. The nameless various wild flowers and trees turned reds in autumn. When the sun goes down, this garden is perfect to dating course under romantic lightings.

Going up above ECC, you can find a main building which is one of the oldest buildings of the Ewha campus. It is the building only designated as cultural treasure among Ewha’s buildings and is being used as the head office of the university. An antique Gothic building combined with multicolored trees creates a beautiful sight.
  
   Ewha Women’s University
 
Ewha’s campus is open to the public. So, everybody can look around the campus and also can enjoy beautiful autumn flavor. But there is one thing that you should keep in mind. As this university is a academic place prior to a tourist spot, no one should distract an academic atmosphere.
It is allowed to walk at campus or do a photo shoot. But it is advised that any actions causing damage to students such as trespassing a building and talking loudly or taking pictures inside the building like reading rooms where students are studying are strictly prohibited.
