Korail airport railroad, which runs between Incheon airport station and Seoul station, Korea, has established itself as the important means of transportation connecting Incheon and Kimpo international airport with Seoul downtown area to foreigners. It's users were only about 13 thousands a day at the beginning of opening on March, 2007. But now it is crowded with users over 200 thousands a day.
Because of increased users, it is hard to find vacant seats at a departure station like Seoul station or Incheon airport station especially at rush hour. So passengers who use the express train running nonstop between Seoul station and Incheon airport station have been increasing.
After 8 years of opening, there are still many people who are misinformed to Korail airport railroad. Korail airport railroad has two kinds of operation trains, all stop train and express train. Some people wrongly believe that express train is charged more expensively than all stop train, even though there is the same class of train.
These two kinds of train have totally different interiors and have been operating by different fare systems and services. Passengers using all stop train that stop at every 11 stations sit face to face or have to stand in being crowded. It makes sense that this type train is a regular subway train. It takes 53 minutes to go from Seoul station to Incheon airport station and charges 3,950 Won as a fare(by the transportation card).
On the other hand, express train runs in 43 minutes between Seoul station and Incheon airport station. It assigns a seat to a user individually and has spacious baggage spaces. Its train crews offer a service guide to passengers. Its fare is 8,000 Won each way but there are various discount systems such as charging 6,000 Won to each when over 4 persons use.

And there are many people who even don't know that Incheon airport railroad is faster than regular subway train. It is twice faster than regular subway train because the average distance between stations is 5.3km and is much longer than average 1 km of subway train. You can definitely find out it's faster than subway train if you transfer to subway train in Seoul after taking on Incheon airport railroad.
Many foreigners don't know about a city air terminal inside Seoul station of Incheon airport railroad. This terminal provides some services like boarding procedure, luggage consignment and immigration screening for passengers of Korean Air, Air Asiana and Jeju airlines. After finishing an immigration screening, you can go to Incheon airport with a light heart, without some baggages.
