Greetings from AREX. :)

You already know to cover your head and seek shelter during an earthquake, however what must you do if an earthquake starts while you are riding the subway?
Come take a look together with AREX to find out.

When an Earthquake Occurs While on the Subway

If an earthquake occurs while inside a subway train
grab a handle or similar fixed object tightly to counter and shock
and calmly follow the advice of the train worker.

If the shocks of the earthquake cause a blackout
The emergency lights of the train will turn on, so do not be flustered
And refrain from doing anything dangerous.

In the case of a class 5 earthquake or greater, the train will temporarily come to a halt.
If opening the doors and exiting the train,
You must be cautious while evacuating.

How about when an earthquake occurs while within the subway station?

When an Earthquake Occurs While Within the Subway Station

The AREX is built to resist earthquakes,
So if one breaks out, do not be frightened and remain calm.

Even if a blackout occurs, emergency lights will be up and running so you may evacuate. Therefore, follow the directions of the station workers and firemen in an orderly fashion.

If an earthquake occurs whilst riding an elevator
Wait for the elevator to stop and swiftly get off and seek shelter.

If you become trapped in the elevator, please use the interphone to request help from a station worker.

This concludes the briefing on how to seek shelter in case of an earthquake.
