There are many popular spots in Seoul where you can enjoy beautiful night views of the city. Today, we will introduce the hidden spot for night view in Seoul, "Maebongsan Mountain - Palgakjeong Pavilion" where you can overlook the Hangang River and downtown Seoul.
Take subway to Yaksu Station and get off at Exit 5. When you come out from Exit 5, Walk about 10 minutes from Seoul Broadcasting High School until you come to a wooden staircase that leads to Maebongsan Park.
Walk up the stairs for about 10 to 15 minutes and you will reach Palgakjeong pavilion of Maebongsan Mountain.
If you go up the wooden stairs, you will see a trail that leads to Palgakjeong Pavilion. It is easy to climb because you just need to walk along this path.
Maebongsan Park is a park located right next to Namsan Mountain. It is accessible from a few subway stations such as Yaksu Station, Geumho Station, Beotigogae Station and Hangangjin Station. Most importantly, you can choose one of the 5 walking trails of Namsan-gil of Seoul Forest, and get to Maebongsan Mountain Palgakjeong Pavilion easily to enjoy the night view of Hangang River. This is also a good place to bring children or come with your lover.
As you walk up to Palgakjeong Pavilion, you will be able to see downtown Seoul through the branches on your left, and on your right, you can see Namsan Tower from afar.

There is an information board at the Palgakjeong Pavilion that displays the picture of Seoul's night scenery. If you follow the arrow and look out of the Pavilion, you will see a really amazing view of Seoul city.
You can see the famous Lotte World Tower from here! Everyone who visits Palgakjeong Pavilion (including me) are busy taking pictures of the beautiful scenery with camera and phone.
At Palgakjeong Pavilion, you can see Yeongdong Bridge, Seongsu Bridge and Dongho Bridge of Hangang River at once. This is one of the reasons why this place is popular. It's also fun and interesting to find the main spots according to the information shown on the board.
When the sun is about to set, you will see a different scenery with the pink sky as background. If you wish to witness the short magic hour that offers such beautiful scenery, it is recommended that you check the sunset time of the day in advance and visit this place about 30 minutes earlier than the sunset time.
As the sky gets darker, the lights of the building are turned on one by one. After the sun goes down, the lights on the bridge of Han River will also be turned on. This is the time for you to enjoy the beautiful night view of Seoul!
The lights on Yeongdong Bridge, Seongsu Bridge, Dongho Bridge, and even the reflection of the light in Han River makes this scenery a perfect picture.
Many people bring their tripods and cameras to Palgakjeong Pavilion to take photos of the beautiful night view of Hangang River and Seoul city. It is not far from the entrance of the park, so this place is really a popular place to visit if you wish to enjoy night view in Seoul.
