Short but deeply! If you want to feel relaxed and get some healing time, we recommend you to take a walk along the Jeongdong-gil street.

Jeongdong-gil, from 23-8 Jeongdong to 34-3 Jeongdong (approximately 1km), is a one-way road for vehicles and walking path for pedestrian. This is one of the most beautiful streets in the city and it is said to be the TOP 1 popular walking path in Seoul.

The area around this street is also a good place to learn about the heritage of modern history and culture as you can find the first girl schools such as Ewha School and Pai Chai Academy (Baejae Hakdang) in this area.

There are attractions such as Jeongdong Park and Baejae Park which is located near Jeongdong-gil street. These places are provided for the citizens to rest and relax. In addition, you will also find Ewha Girls' High School, Yewon School, and Jeongdong Theater around this area.

Jeongdong-gil walking path begins at Seoul City Hall, which is close to Airport Railroad (AREX) Seoul Station.

If you get off at City Hall Station (Exit 1), you will first see Deoksugung Palace. Next to Deoksugung Palace, there is Seoul City Hall Seosomun Building where you can visit the Jeongdong Observatory to enjoy the beautiful view of Jeongdong-gil street as well as Deoksugung Palace.

Currently, Jeongdong Observatory is temporary closed due to COVID-19. As for now, let's enjoy the view of Jeongdong-gil by looking at photos uploaded online.

In the old times, Seoul Family Court was located at this place. Due to that, some people said that if you walk along Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway with you lover, you will break up with him/her. Nonetheless, this street is still as beautiful and famous in many ways.

[Seoul Museum of Art]

The Seoul Museum of Art is located at a strategic place along the Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway on Jeongdong-gil. It was built in the 1920s and only the front part of the former Family Court building was preserved.

This place was established to show the public of artwork through various exhibitions, and to contribute to the development of art culture through different kinds of educational classes. Therefore, it is recommended that you visit this place as well when you go for a walk in downtown Seoul.

[Jungmyeongjeon Hall of Deoksugung Palace]

Jungmyeongjeon Hall was the private quarters of Emperor Gojong since 1904 until he was forced to step down. The Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905 was signed here.

Visitors can study and feel the modern history and culture at the Jungmyeongjeon Exhibition Hall. It operates from 9:30 to 17:30 p.m. However, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the number of visitors is limited to 20 person at one time. If you do not wear face masks, you will not be allowed to enter. (Last admission 17:00 / Closed on Mondays)

[Former Russian Legation]

Currently, the Former Russian Legation is only left with the tower (without the building). When you walk uphill along the road next to Yewon School, you will see a park and this is indeed a good place to take a walk.

There is a hexagon pavilion located in a small park at the Former Russian Legation. There are also benches at the park which makes it a good place to rest and relax.
