[Korea Tourism] Incheon Yeonhui Park

Spring and Summer have already passed, and Autumn has come. Since we can't have outdoor activities freely in this COVID-19 situation, we have been searching for places in the city center where we can go for a walk. In this post, we will introduce Yeonhui Park in Incheon.

Even in this late Summer, Yeonhui Park is still in green and this place feels like a hidden treasure in the city center. The view across the main road is more beautiful than what we have expected. The city center filled with buildings is often referred to as a gray city but this nature garden adds liveliness to the city.

The walking path down to Yeonhui Park is made of wooden decks. After long rainy season and the typhoon, it was a clear day when we visited. However, even if there is no news that it will rain, dark clouds suddenly comes, the rain pours down and then it disappeared.

Yeonhui Park (size about 69,442㎡) was made as an ecological area for living habitats, different from existing parks, in order to adapt to climate change in urban areas and secure the urban ecosystem health. Due to the artificial wetlands, it feels like we took a drive out of the city. If the weather was a little clearer, the trees reflected in the water would look even greener.

Is that a fake sculpture or a real bird? After looking at it for a long time, it could not hold back and flew away with its wings. This place is not just a place for human. It is a habitat inhabited by a variety of creatures, and a bird observatory is set up in the wetlands to observe birds.

The walkway between the bushes is well decorated, which makes it easy to for walking. Normally, eco parks or natural garden would have trails with decks, but Yeonhui Park separates the ecological space from the walking trails, so even if you take a walk after the rain, it won't be muddy.

As you walk in this park, the only scenery you can see is colourful flowers and trees. When you feel stressful, the best thing to do is to take a walk in the nature.

The beautiful photo that captured the bicycle passing through the paddy field across Yeonhui Park.

You can't see tall buildings or complex roads here. Only grasses, trees and flowers swaying in the wind in front of your eyes, as well as the sound of insects.

There are also an ecological playground for children, but the usage of facilities is prohibited for now to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Don't forget to put on mask and practice social distancing when you are taking a walk in the park.
