[Incheon] Silmi Beach in Muuido Island

Silmi Beach, located at Muuido Island (Incheon), is filled with dense pine trees and with flat ground that is perfect for forest therapy. When it is low tide, you can even enjoy the mudflats at Silmi beach.

As you walk along the beach, you may be able to pick up clams and top shells, and you can only experience this in Silmi beach. Due to the stricter social distancing level of COVID-19,  you can't do camping, gathering or picnic. However, this is a nice place where you can enjoy a quiet walk along the beach as it is not crowded.

Incheon International Airport T1 Station

To get to Silmi beach, you can take AREX train to Incheon International Airport T1 station, and then take bus #111 to Muuido Island entrance. After that, take a village bus or taxi.

Normally, you can use the camping site at the beach. However, due to COVID-19 situation, camping is temporarily not allowed here.

At the entrance, there is a parking lot and ticket office of Silmi Beach. The entrance fee is collected and used for the nature conservation at the beach.

There are two types of entrance fee - general admission and camping. The general admission is charged at KRW 2,000 for adults, and KRW 1,000 for child.

On days when it is at high tide, you won't be able to enter to the beach. So please take note of this, and you may want to check the condition before coming here.

In the past, the beach would probably be filled with people, but since the camping site is closed, you can now enjoy a quiet and beautiful beach.

Silmi Beach is quite wide, so it's nice to walk from one end to another end as you listen to the sound of waves.

Since there are not many people at the beach, the seagulls have become the main character here. You will see many of them resting on the beach.

The waves are usually calm and small, you can also play in the water during Summer.

There is a bench in the middle of the sandy beach. You can also sit here facing the sea and enjoy the waves.

The camping site at Silmi Beach looks a little old, but it is clean as the caretaker is constantly taking care of it.

This is the sign that marks the area for the outdoor tent/camping.

It is spacious between the trees to let you set up your tent here. The outdoor camping area is close to the beach so you can have a really good view of the sea.

There are shaded pavilion and decks in front of the camping site, which is suitable for people without tent to have picnics. If you wish to use this place, you need to ask the staff at the ticket office.

There is are washstand/basin at a few areas along the beach.

In addition, there is also an area for you to throw rubbish. Kindly throw the rubbish according to the label ( i.e. can, plastic, general waste, etc).

There is a toilet here and it is quite clean.

Besides the above mentioned facilities, there are about three to four restaurants (eg. sashimi restaurant) and supermarket where you can fill your stomach after a long walk at the beach.

Muuido Pine Tree Restaurant [Seonyeonginae]

Hello.
This is AREX. :)
Let’s get right to Nareu’s recommended restaurant!
Today, we are talking about the Pine Tree Restaurant (Seonyeonginae) located in Muuido. :)

Seonyeonginae, aka the Pine Tree Restaurant located in Muuido, Incheon, has an old sign on display showing off its 20 years of service. :)

The interior is in stark contrast with it’s exterior with how surprisingly wide and open it is.

You can also enjoy the feeling of killing two birds with one stone by sitting outside and eating while enjoying the sight of the mud fields.

There’s also a café outside that is managed by the restaurant, so after eating you can have a chat while sipping on a coffee.
.

Additionally, outside are a table and photo spot so you can take a picture with a date, family or your kids.

*At night, there is a neon sign so you can take an even prettier picture with its glow in the background. : )

In typical seafood restaurant fashion, the menu really catches your eye with its various foods such as grilled fish, clams, seafood noodle soup, sashimi soup, spicy seafood stew, etc.

*The grilled dishes are unavailable outside, so for those who wish to enjoy the scenery while eating, please be aware. : )

The dishes I went for this time were the cold sashimi soup and the seafood noodle soup!

I ordered one portion of each, but I was surprised at just how generous the portions were.

Noodle soup, green onion pancakes, cold sashimi soup, etc. are all available in single servings, so those who plan to dine alone can enjoy the food without any worries.

On the right side outside of the restaurant is a long stretching road leading to both the great mud fields and Jamjin Island.

At the moment, the road is being extended and is under construction. However, I suggest that you go later together with a date to walk along the path while savoring the smell of the ocean. : )

The great number of cruise ships and fishing boats hurriedly moving about together with the endless sea beyond the mud fields is quite a spectacle.

If you exit the restaurant to the left and walk 3 minutes, you will encounter Yongyu Island’s 3D sculpture.
At sunset, this spot becomes the best photo zone for couples and photographers to snap a picture. : )

Geojampo is famous for its port where one can see the beautiful sunrise from the distinctive rias shoreline.

Especially at nearby Maerang-do, which looks similar to a shark’s fin and is thusly named “Shark Island”, the sunrise is gorgeous.

On the right side of Geojampo is Muuido where there is a road that leads all the way to the docks.
You can enjoy the ocean breeze and azure waters on your walk.
On the left of the road is Geojampo and on the right is Masiran beach.
The seaside spreads out so at rising ride, one can feel like they are walking in the middle of the ocean.
