Many people love to eat ice-cream in hot Summer. In this post, we will introduce 2 sweet ice-cream cafe in Yeonnam-dong that will cool you down on a hot day.
#1 Cali Softserve
When you walk around in Yeonnam-dong alleys, you will see Cali Softserve - an ice cream cafe painted in vivid mint colour on the outside. Cali Softserve started in Busan, and has branches in Seongsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong in Seoul. They use 100% Organic Milk from Sangha farm.
On the outside, you will see a large ice-cream decoration on the mint colour wall and a chair that has the shape of an ice cream melting down, which you can use it as a photo-zone and take Instagrammable photos.
As you enter the cafe, you will see that the walls are painted in various colours. The colourful wall can make your mood better. Also, you will find chairs with the same design as the one placed outside the cafe.
With the cute posters on the wall and the melted ice-cream as decoration on the floor, this place is so Instagrammable.
The basic flavor in Cali Softserve is vanilla and there are other flavors which will be changed every week. You can check the flavors for that week on their Instagram before visiting. The ice-cream can be served in cone or cup.

We tried the mixed flavor ice-cream - vanilla and corn. As you can see from the photo above, it comes with a paper stand to prevent ice-cream melting down on your hand. The most unique part is, the vanilla flavor is in pink color. ^^
The combination of sweet vanilla and savory corn flavor blend in well together. It's not too sweet, so give it a try if you like both vanilla and corn.
The cone is light and crispy, so it goes well with the sweet and soft ice-cream.

#2 Soft Tofu Youngman (순두부청년)
In one of the alleys in Yeonnam-dong, you will see Soft Tofu Youngman Ice-cream and Gelato cafe that has some cute decorations outside. They serve delicious ice-cream with soft tofu as ingredient, as well as gelato made from various ingredients.
Inside the cafe, there are some tables and chairs for customers to enjoy their ice-cream.
On the right side of the counter, you can check out the descriptions of the various toppings sprinkled on soft ice-cream and how it actually looks like. It looks so delicious with the topping powder on top of white soft ice-cream. Of course, you can order the non-topping ice-cream. With or without topping, the price is actually the same.
We ordered the soft ice cream with purple sweet potato topping powder. It is about the size of a palm, and the purple sweet potato powder on top of the ice cream are quite fine. In addition, the ice cream comes with a small flower as deco. The owner buys the flower directly from the flower market every week. *Note: the flower is for deco purposes and is not edible.
Soft tofu is used as a ingredient, but you won't taste a very strong tofu in it. It's not too sweet, so the elderly can also enjoy their ice-cream.
